oK, I wish that when Icons are made for the Desk Icons that more times they would all so make them for Object Dock. I know , it must be a girl thing but I like my things to match. I know I am just a user and not a contributing skinner , but I do love this site and think you skinner's are wonderful artist. I have this great wall and can't find Icons to match to make it look GREAT. Thanks

You might try this......
Open Iconpackager and select the icons you want to use then go to settings and under "Saving Icon Packages" make sure the check box next to "Save Package as Individual Icons" is checked. Then do a File > Save As (or save) You'll then need to use Windows Explorer to go to C:\Program Files\Stardock\Object Desktop\IconPackager\Themes\xxxxxxx to find your icons.

Alternately you could open the package in IconDeveloper and export the ones you want to use.

I am not sure I understand that. I am talking about to different Icons. One being Desktop icons and Object Dock Icons. I know how to use them Just would like more set of each one to match.

You could also drag the same icons from your desktop onto Object Dock and use them that way to match.

Hope I understood you correctly

Oh, will that work that way. I will try. Thanks

Oh one thing though, the icon you want to match up might not be of the same quality and will look somewhat fuzzy on Object Dock when magnified.

Rose...follow these steps and you can use any icon you have for ObjectDock
1. Open IconPackager
2. Click on the icon set containing the icon you want to use.
3. Click on "Icons and Cursors" on the left.
4. Navigate to the icon you want to use by clicking on the choices at the top.
5. Right click on the icon and choose "Edit using IconDeveloper"
6. Click on the size format on the left which can be anywhere from 256 x 256 to 16 x 16
7. Now right click the larger image on the right and choose "Export Selected" and then "As PNGs" and choose a folder you want to save it to.

Now...when you do this you have to go and rename the png file before trying to save another one because it will overwrite the previous one. I do this all the time if I see an icon I want to use for ObjectDock.

Rose... another way that works for me....

try AveIconifier2

WWW Link

With it you can drop ico or png files in one side where indicated, and drag the opposite file out the other side.

AveIconifier works great...Been using it myself for long time...but for what she wants to do she'd have to not have them in a package and be able to just unzip them in a folder to use it. The nice thing about AveIconifier is it maintains the original file name.

I do mine like this:

Open IconPackager, Settings, and check "Save package as individual icons". Then select the package you want and 'File' > 'Save Package as', browse to the ObjectDock folder where your icons are, create a new folder with the name of the package and ok. You then have a folder full of icons.

Incidentally, .ico icons look great on ObjectDock, no need to convert to png

Interesting Fuzzy....I'll give your method a try.

I agree - I have never converted Icons to pngs to use on Object dock. I Just change each individual Icons on OD by right clicking on each Icon in an existing dock > Dock Item Properties > Change image > navigate to Icon packager > Themes > find the icon pack I want then find the icon > ok

Then I just "save dock theme as"

I use Fairyy's method too ...just one extra step though ..I like uniformity of filetypes on my docks [yeah, I'm a bit weird ] ...so I convert to .png just before using on the dock. It's a reasonably quick method once you've done it a few times.

Fairyy~ I have used your method but unfortunately some icon packages do not show up as separate icons...There are many that do not....Layout by Z71 for example. And as a result I was unable to use some icon sets that way.

Web your way does show up those icons that didn't show up before.

Fuzzy your way shows all those missing icon sets and is by far the fastest once you have saved each icon set.

Finally I can use every icon set that I have in my docks...Thank You !~!

And Erk I will be doing a batch convert now with each full set to png. I do as well prefer to use all pngs....I'm funny that way too
